Confocal Imaging Facility

Our mission is to strengthen research performed in Puerto Rico by providing services in the area of confocal microscopy to the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), other academic institutions, and the private sector.

The Confocal Imaging Facility at UPR (CIF-UPR) was established on December 2001 thanks to NIH-NCRR (ISI0 RR-13705-01) and NSF-EPSCoR funding and it has continued to grow since then. Indeed, we were recently awarded an NSF-MRI grant (DBI-0923132) to upgrade the facility to enable emission fingerprinting.
